Newly released by the Heritage Foundation is a report that asserts that the promotion of competitive sports for girls and women “formed a core element of a broader project to remake female character itself — producing a new woman who would be more aggressive, assertive, dominant, and less deferential, less graceful, and less oriented toward motherhood and traditional feminine graces.” Reports like this show our progress in women’s rights is not set in stone. Progressive Views: Hit the Brakes on Data Centers

Although a majority of Texans oppose construction of data centers in their communities, data centers, with Governor Abbott's full support, are taking advantage of Texas’ weak regulatory structure to vastly expand their plans. Call your reps to demand that data center construction ceases until more guidelines are put in place.

Progressive Views: Dysfunction at the Top

Under Jane Nelson's leadership, the TxSoS Elections Division, previously a very efficient and responsive agency, has become much more difficult to work with. Issues run from inaccurate and late voter file updates and voter history files to not sending out voter registration cards. Progressive Views: Successes and Warnings for Endangered Species

The whooping crane and bald eagle are two examples of birds that have survived due to extensive conservation efforts, but the Trump administration is doing nothing to support conservation efforts, instead FWS withdrew the final Land Protection Plan for the Muleshoe National Wildlife Refuge in the panhandle, the oldest national wildlife refuge in Texas and the FWS lost nearly 20% of its staff. These attacks mean extinction for wildlife and habitats.
