Progressive Views Plus: Big Brother IS Watching You

Flock cameras “use artificial intelligence to scan every vehicle that passes by, uploading the plate number, model, color and even bumper stickers to the country’s largest vehicle surveillance database. Law enforcement agencies that contract with the company — here and across the U.S. — can search the accumulated database with a few keystrokes and without a warrant.”

Progressive Views Plus: The Patriarchy is Alive and Well

Newly released by the Heritage Foundation is a report that asserts that the promotion of competitive sports for girls and women “formed a core element of a broader project to remake female character itself — producing a new woman who would be more aggressive, assertive, dominant, and less deferential, less graceful, and less oriented toward motherhood and traditional feminine graces.” Reports like this show our progress in women’s rights is not set in stone. Progressive Views: Dysfunction at the Top

Under Jane Nelson's leadership, the TxSoS Elections Division, previously a very efficient and responsive agency, has become much more difficult to work with. Issues run from inaccurate and late voter file updates and voter history files to not sending out voter registration cards. Time to elect Democratic leadership.
