The 2018 midterms showed us the power of ensuring that more people exercise their right to vote — in particular, new voters and those who have not been regular voters in the past.
We want to keep that momentum going into the coming months and years, by helping all our neighbors make sure they’re ready to vote, and getting them into the habit of voting!
Our Voter Education & Registration Team is comprised of Volunteer Deputy Registrars who will be present at events and venues, welcome new residents to the area, and visit our high schools to assist with registering young voters. Their goals are to help neighbors:
- Confirm their voter registration information is current and accurate
- Get registered to vote or update their voter registration
- Make a plan to vote in upcoming elections
- Be prepared with appropriate voter ID
- Find out if they’re eligible to vote by mail, and learn how to exercise that right
We’ve put together an information booth/kit that we can set up at events and venues, and we’re looking for volunteers as well as venues to set up. If you’d like to help — whether you’re already a Volunteer Deputy Registrar or not — please let us know.
If you’re organizing an event or venue and would like to promote voter registration, let us know so we can work with you to bring our “Ready to Vote” table to you. And if you have suggestions or ideas, please reach out with those as well!
